Blackboard System Blackboard Login

ITS has received a large number of reports from students receiving an error message when attempting to log into Blackboard. One cause of this problem has been traced to students using a secondary login page via a Google search to access Blackboard. When students afterwards attempt to access Blackboard via the main login page (https://bb.siue.edu), they receive the error message. ITS has contacted the vendor and they are investigating the issue.

Until a resolution is found, students can clear their browser cache to remove the element that is causing the error. Instruction on clearing the cache are available at: http://bit.ly/1jD85EF Restarting your browser after clearing your cache is strongly encouraged.

Students are being directed to the secondary login page via a Google search for SIUE Blackboard. To prevent this error from recurring, students are encouraged to access Blackboard directly at: https://bb.siue.edu or by clicking the Blackboard icon from the toolbar at the bottom of the SIUE homepage at: http://www.siue.edu

East St. Louis Building A - Network Maintenance, scheduled 7 years ago

ITS Networking will be performing maintenance to East St. Louis building A on August 20th from 8:00am to 4:30pm. During this time there will be network and Internet outage. All maintenance will be completed by 5:00 pm.

NetReg portal reset, scheduled 7 years ago

SIUE ITS Network and Systems Infrastructure reset the Residential Student Network Registration (NetReg) portal at 9:30 am Monday 14 Aug 2017. This will require all computers and game consoles on the SIUE Residential Student Network to register using their eID. This reset occurs once yearly to keep all registrations current. One can view the registration page by visiting the following URL: http://netreg.net.siue.edu/

Blackboard System Blackboard Upgrade to SaaS

All Blackboard services have been restored. The vendor has corrected the problem with test and quizzes. The StarFish link within Blackboard is broken however and will be fixed later today. You can access StarFish outside of Blackboard by using the following link:

Blackboard is now available. The vendor has completed their migration and most operational issues have been resolved. There is an ongoing problem with the creation and editing of tests and surveys but the vendor is working to correct this.
